Everyone in the kidney donation equation is treated equally
Launched in response to lobbying from the Quebec Branch of The Kidney Foundation of Canada and administered by Transplant Québec, the Reimbursement Program for Living Donors (RPLD) supports the efforts of donors by reimbursing a portion of the expenses linked to the donation process.
The program was created because healthy people who donate a kidney incur a number of expenses.
The RPLD’s objective is to support donors’ generous act by reimbursing a portion of the expenses they incur during the donation process, up to a maximum of $5,715.
To be eligible to be reimbursed for lost employment income, donors must first use up their other revenue sources (employment insurance, medical leave, paid leave, disability insurance).
